Did you find some Silver Duckwing Ameraucanas?

That must have been scary and a big worry to loose your dogs. Glad someone was kind enough to take them in and you got them back safely.

So glad they are home now.  I do the same thing with lost dogs out here, drives DH nuts wondering if I'm adding to our head count.
I picked up a whippet mix years ago when coming home late one night.  I let it in the house, it ran straight for the bedroom, jumped on the bed and dived under the covers.  I don't know who was quicker, Eric flying out of bed or dog diving under the blankets.

LOL That's a whippet for you. They always know the under the covers trick.

I'm so glad the dogs are home Jason and kept well and dry during the storms.:weee

We have quail popping out of their shells today!!!!

One hatched Easter evening with over a dozen pips on other eggs and then nothing until this morning! I was so worried that I had killed the rest of them when I rescued Frank and took him out of the incubator. He is going to be so happy to have company! I better get another brooder ready!

How fun!

Today, I learned what the little corner clips that came with my Genesis 1588 are for. I didn't use them with the chicken eggs with no problems but the quail are a different story. Several of them got in between the screen and the plastic water tray and took a swim! Once one of them got under the screen, it made room for more and they followed. Not good! If I had used the clips, that would have been prevented! I just had no idea that these quail would be tunnelers! Fortunately, we were watching them hatch and saw it happen. I hated to open up the incubator but the alternative would have been drowned quail. I put water bottles partially filled with warm water on each end to weigh down the trays & screens. There are around 16 hatched out so far!

Those are some crazy Quail!

They just wanted to take a bath!

Good job saving them. Some use foam shelf liners over the wires. That might help those silly Quail!

Yep! I never knew how crazy they could be! If I had just used the clips, it would have been fine. The screen isn't completely flat so when I weighed down one side, the other side came up. So it got a water bottle also. I thought about putting on the clips but decided that it would take me too long. Sticking in a water bottle was a quick fix, I hope. I better go check on them again...
