Today I learned that worming chickens via a suspension is a two person job...unless of course you enjoy being coated is chalky white and wondering if your girls got enough or too much. Just a heads up for ya'll.

After the first 3 my son held while I dosed. it was quick and messless.

Also Day 14 and I am down to the following in the bator:

1 Sweet Baby Ray...all 6 other were infertile
2 Dorkings...maybe 5 but three have way smaller dark areas and no discernible movement so I think they gave up the ghost
4 mixed red layers
2 Chocolate Rocks
3 Konza project babies
1 lemon orpinton...this one is a ? I could have seen movement but I could have just wanted to really badly.
1 chocolate mauve Ameraucana

Pulled the last two Partridge Chanteclers

eggtopsied all of the pulled eggs and they were totally clear. I am sad about the Dorkings and the Part. Chants because they were the reason I bought the mixed egg sets in the first place.

On the brighter side everything I pulled really had NOTHING going on so I didn't have the horrible feeling of pulling a developing egg.

You just have not known one yet. They are addictive!

They exert a type of mind control.

I wish I had one tonight--One of the Ducks needs a comforter.

This is probably a Cockerel. He was on the edge of the Brooder an looked like he needed to have a picture taken:



He already has a brick shape and the color looks very good to me. the legs are very nicely colored too.

I'm probably the only one who has a couple to go on the list, sorry I was born without the silkie gene.

I like lots of breeds but decided to just keep a few breeds to focus on. I figure I can mix in olive egger combs to help keep the new breed thing at bay

I wonder what is going on with Dorkings this year. I have heard of three places now with a lot of clears.

You still have quite an interesting assortment of chicks.
