You know I was thinking the other day, what if something happened to Nifty and let's say the forum was shut down? Would all this really valuable information be lost forever? Or is this one of this things where the information will be forever out in internet land?

The last number I heard was that BYC had 190,000 members. There is likely a corporate structure that would keep the site going.

If you actually do want to put that as your phone background, just message me and I'll shoot ya the link. :)
I love it, it's my new favorite picture of Nelly. She is very torn, when it comes to these chicks...On one hand, she loves to play mama to anything that's a baby(she raised an orphaned kitten that we had, all we did was feed it!). On the other hand, being a working BC, she feels the need to herd EVERYTHING that moves. Usually just animals(including my fish, cats, foster dogs)... But one time she was herding the water in the bathtub while I was bathing the foster dog. So, you know, she usually just stares at them and drools, but if I hold one up by her she licks it(which the chicks don't like!)

I have to crate her when doing the daily photoshoots of my chicks, because otherwise she's in the background of all the pictures, herding the chick.
Well then I almost feel like I am cheating on my 6 year old who currently holds the prestigious position of my phone background. But go ahead, send it on over. I will put it on my computer wallpaper if that is okay with you? I like it!

What's the weather usually like in Roseville? I know here in Redding it's not uncommon to see 110..
Ummmm you know, I am not 100% sure, but it gets over the 100 mark most of the summer days it seems. I am not a heat lover so it is just something I live through to be able to enjoy a nice area to live.

The mods edit the bad stuff out of the threads and then close it to posting but leave the thread up for reference and information so we do not see what caused the thread to be closed. Usually the other threads are better--often because the offenders either leave or straighten up and fly right. I am back watching and sometimes participating in a couple of Heritage threads. I am very careful and try to use the Proper chicken terms LOL. Oh and I would not dare use emoticons on those threads....

Some people contributed a bunch of good stuff on those threads that should not be lost.
You know, I probably over use emoticons because I am always misunderstood. I am very sarcastic and I am ALWAYS joking. They are somewhat required in a forum when the written word does not necessarily convey the intended meaning.

Hahaha! Sure, you can use it as your background. :) I have no problem with people using my pictures, as long as they don't edit them or remove the watermark.
I used to live in Fair Oaks, so I assume the weather there was really similar to Roseville. I know what you mean about not liking the heat...But Redding is an awesome place, I love living in the middle of nowhere...So I endure it being ridiculously hot in the summer!

Redding will be about 5 degrees hotter each day than Roseville, so when it is 110 for you it will be 105 for Ali. The Record high for Roseville is 114. Redding is closer to 118.

Hot!

That's right! I forgot about that. It has been a few years since I gave my original babies away. I actually used to get a tupperware and freeze the water with chunks of mellon in it. Keeps them entertained and cooler.
Up here I give the girls overgrown cucumbers, they prefer watermellons but at $7.00 a piece I wait until we have extended heat before giving them. I go through 3 watermellons a day. We run pretty close in temp to Redding but a little cooler at night.

I treat the birds at fair with cucs, you can get a shower walking down the rows. Another volunteer gives them corn cobs in the evenings after she cores them. It's fun to watch birds learn to eat something other than crumbles, after they figure out it won't eat them.
