I have taken a BUNCH of close up detailed photos of their combs, feet, bodies, ect that I could post if you'd like.
I think they'll do fine in show. (Not showmen ship, just being juddged inside of the cage.)
But their legs are not yellow..
Slightly but not really. Should i post the pictures?
"Legs set well apart and straight when viewed from front."
It didn't say anything about color.
I will post a few, but not all because it takes forever! Hahha.
But they are ALL in my "Default Album" on my profile page.
Her basic stance.
Yellow?
Nails will SOON be trimmed, 3 days before show.
Eyeball, combs and waddles.
(These photos are of random.)
My chickens all look almost identical except one is very dark.
Welcome to the thread! It's the happening spot on BYC these days!
Hope everyone there is out of reach of those fires...
Stay cool!
I use a DLM w/ straw for my big girls & do a full clean out 2x a year, cedar & pin e shavings w/ the babies & everything has been working fine w/ that for about the last 4 years.
There are scraps of siding under the roosts that I can scrape droppings off of & add to compost... LOVE this!
Sorry for your loss Jersey... I am too returning from Sonoma where I stayed w/ my grandma after we lost my grandpa last Sunday... Missed you guys!!! REALLY glad to be home!
Your turkey pics & your coop are AWESOME Amy!!! It took me three years to get the "palace" but it was well worth the wait!
Hi Laura,
Welcome & congrats on the new coop & chickens!
Thats the coolest incubator I ever saw Ron! Good Luck w/ the hatch & I'm sorry about your roo.
Wish I could be there!!!! Have fun everyone & please post pics if anyone remembers!!
Been thinking about you, Jules... Hope everything is well, I officially designate a pair of "Coop Shoes" for everyone in family & am currently at the end of a Cocci breakout in the babies' house.
Had to move them into the "palace" because the brooder was too cramped & they were all getting sick. Now one has a "gleet" issue... any advice??
"The Palace"... almost done, already occupied!
I'm in Laytonville... Not quite neighbors, but your the first Mendo resident I've seen here! Welcome to the thread!!
On that note, hope everyone has made it thru the heat (and fires) & are getting to cool off now! Have a wonderful weekend, please let me know if there are any special gleet cures out there! Going to do an "enema" now on on of my 6 week old Columbian Wyandotte... poor thing is crying when she tries to poop.
Not thrilled to come home to this, but glad my hubby kept everyone alive in the 106 + temps while I was away.
HI everyone, Im new to this part of the forum Just browsing around to get to know who my neighbors are.. anyone else here from Fort Bragg?? I am just getting back
"into" chickens after about 8 yrs. and have bought and hatched a few birds in the last couple months. Also built an chicken house , moved and left my barn behind I know I have forgot about all i knew so will be watching and learning as I go.
This is " Magic Mike" Silkie Showgirl cockerel
A couple of the chicks
and the new chicken house... no yard yet...
cant wait to get the yards finished.... I should be getting a few new chicks in a couple weeks. Im anxious to have them here.
I have stuck to the same breeder for nearly everything. It looks like Buff Orpingtons and me were meant to be. I am going to re-evaluate the 3 kinds I will have had until next Spring (I may or may not add a couple banties still). I have Buff Orps, BC Marans (only a couple though) and Ron is selling me a couple EE pullets (woot! so excited! I personally find EEs so darn pretty!) and that's mostly it. I will have maybe 2 mix pullets (black orp/bc marans oops). Allllll the cockerels except for 3 will be eaten, and 1 pullet going to a friend. So I'm not too all over the place I hope. The ages are what's a mess. 4 wks, 6 wks, however old the EE pullets are and then I am picking up a couple BOs that are near laying. I have to find a way to integrate the 4 and 6 week olds.
The coop should be done tonight! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT! It's no pretty but it will be DONE! haha
