California - Northern

My grandparents never had a tree, and my memories are great!  They had a plastic Christmas sleigh and they put all the presents in that.

It happens, but yes, you have to watch those bands as they grow.

I LOVE this! Over the years we have slowly stopped using many of the traditional decorations after researching their origins .( personal choice not a judgemental one) Now this would be amazing to have a sleigh is the living room !!! Thank you for sharing!!!

I have some birds about ready for bands. I'm nervous a bit. I wonder how will I get them off if I need a new system... Which ones have the most easy tracking ability for my records. I am doing split line breeding ( my wording ) this time around and have to keep better track of generations than before when it was a single breed flock and "just having fun" breeding...also I wonder if the metal ones will be a problem close to 0 this winter ?

What is bueno?

Very very exciting! I may have to see what all this silkie businessis about.

Look what was in my basket this afternoon.

bottom row all pullet eggs. That is Willa, my OE's first with Harriet (Del) Blanche (CA Grey) and Godiva (Choc Rock) Top row My only two layers out of 4 from the big girls dept today were Vivian (Red Star) and That big weird looking one is from Dottie the Del. Probably two yolks in there. Della laid a rubber egg on the poo tray in the night so at least things are moving a long in there.

What a beautiful mix of colors!

These will be my first Silkies. I have become very fond of bantams, so I thought I would add some Silkies to my mix of bantam BLRWs, buff Brahmas, Polish and d'Anvers.

You Guys are making me want to fire up my incubator--it's getting bad--I might start getting the jitters soon....

Congratulations to all with new chicks. Fingers crossed for all those waiting for wee ones to hatch. Beautiful first eggs.
Now for a blurry ugly baby picture - 7 day old pigeon. I had no idea how "un-chickenlike" they are. Re-working just about everything.
