This is so sad. Anyone who lives in Lake County... or not.

@Chic CAN we are collecting extra eggs for them. If you are coming to Lakeport or diving to Ukiah and have eggs to spare I can meet you and you can donate...even a few will do we are trying to get them at least a dozen a week. I know production is down for lot of people so if you can't that's understandable. rop me a PM if you want more info.

Yes I was thinking that too. They also have a fund set up for donations. The mother said it would be 6 months worth of income needed for them before any other funds may kick in to help them. Poor family. But people fro all over the county have been moved and are pitching in to help. That is so incredible to see. People from other counties too.
We live in a great place!

My almost 6 mos. old NH started to lay this week. I am not using any artificial lights as well.

They are GORGEOUS!!! Even my hatchery New Hampshires look like they have a light that come from inside but these quality ones look like they glow...I am sure these are 10 times as beautiful in person

They are on my Prayer list now.
Thanks for that Ron.

Not doing Orps ...haven't for several years. Lots of bantams and waterfowl. Large fowl: New Hamps, Shamo's and Asils.

Some of the many birds I raise now. I am going to be selling off extra birds here very soon.

Walt

Lots of tall birds. I love the ducks too. You seem to have a taste for the unique

I do too. The musculature on the legs of the orientals is impressive.

So my crested cream legbars are right next to my Marans/Olive Egger pen. I checked eggs yesterday and in the Marans/Olive pen i found what I thought could've been a CCL egg at first but after looking closer, it was GREYISH green? Anyone have Olive Eggers made with blue laying Easter Eggers and Marans that lay a Greyish egg? Also she is either a Very late layer or this was just a fluke. Could it just be an oops?
I have an EE who lays an egg that is olive most days but sometimes a muddy green/grey...not the prettiest egg for sure but it is a good size!

There sure are a lot of cute chicken things in stores right now...hope Santa is noticing them too

The Shamo's take three years to max out. Yes, there is a huge difference in sizes between these and bantams. These big birds really like people.....which is a good thing for many reasons. This big guy almost kicked the door to his pen out when I surprised him one evening. As you can guess this breed is very primitive in it's behavior.
Female with a rat......not a mouse.....a rat. This is a big female. 9.5 lbs.

I am really enoying all of the great pictures today!

Walt has the most amazing Birds!

Jason is getting things so nicely set up for his long term Penedesenca project! I will help as much as I am able.

My Penne pullets laid two egg from that pen yesterday, so I am getting at least one from the Partridge Pennes....I will separate them soon and let the Cockerel come visit. I hope I can get some breeding going with them.

I have an OE that is a FBCM/Black AM mix who lays all kinds of different colored eggs from greyish to olive green to khaki and all shades in between. Sometimes they are even speckled. She is my only OE so I know that it is her. Here are 3 of her eggs:
