Pita Pintas are a very rare spanish breed. They are just like the Marraduna Basque in temperament and hardiness (although they are supposed to be even friendlier than EO's.) They're also called Painted Hens.

I like olive eggers and  Ameraucana's for temperment.
Icelandic's and Penedesenca for just being cool chickens and evasive of predators

Nice! I was thinking about getting some EE's to breed and have a local hatching supply of them.

Those Pita Pintas are awsome looking.. I would love a blue and white one or red and white one to use with the white empordanesa... nice

The parents of the ones that are hatching are stunning. Same with the Marraduna Basques' parents. I've never seen a Penedesenca in person (besides these ones parents) ive looked up pictures and the Pene's parents are gorgeous as well!

We have Pita Pinta Asturiana. White and black. I can't wait! They're very rare and were almost extinct just a few years ago. Even in Spain people are just getting the breed reestablished. I hope to be able to share this breed with many others in the future! If they are half as amazing as Spanish people say they are then we've found a gem!

Well, I'm back from the Fair and pleased with my birds. First, I knew they were all young, so wouldn't be super competitive yet.
