I like Nutridrench/ Vegamite really?
It has carpet but the weak shelled ones still break.I don't know Why this is still here but omg these girls are gorgous. Now to sell him on going to Sacramento tomorrow to get a jubilee rooster.
Ron put a bit of carpet in the bottom of the roll out nest. That keeps em from braking.
I need to give more big of bird to the girls. But how to make sure they drink not spill it hrm...
Laura I didn't see that you have a poly in hand so to speak. I have never been able to find it so I don't have actual experiance with how strong it is but I bet a Google with water dosage poly would come up with some info on google. Sorry I'm not more help.
That is so funny!I got the BOB thanks to you Ron. Been loving it. Only problem is one day my husband dumped out all the chicken waterers. He thought they all pooped in it cause it was brown.![]()
The boy girl thing is weird. Some think more boys hatch in the winter to early spring and more pullets hatch later in the season.Don't give me those hens! Lol. I was getting 65 to 70% girls. At one stage I had a waiting list of people who wanted breese as flock roosters.
Liz you could advertise them as great protectors and Good genes. People read a bit and add them as the boy in the mixed flock.
i was wondering about what determines sex of the birds. I've read that some reptiles are determined by incubating temp (or at least that was a rumor). I was doubtful if that's the case for chickens though, but thought I'd ask.chiqita, what ratio of boys and girls do you hatch? My Bresse hatches have always been more boys than girls. Since we are using them for meat, that has been fine with me. I wonder if one of my two hens produces mostly boys? It will be interesting to see what this new breeding season produces.
@chiqita might take one for you. Then you could breed. I hear she's found the Henseminator equipment and is starting a mobile serviceNo....no roosters allowed here.I should be able to find homes for them though. I'm sure I will end up with some.![]()
