I'm not trying to argue with you, I love a good mystery guessing game.

Look at the paws on the marten, the animal in the picture has very narrow paws. Face looks similar though.

to be clear, i'm not arguing either -- just puzzled. each piece of the animal (face, ears, paw, fur) looks like a different creature!

Is there anything I could/should do for my hen that's sick I posted about earlier? She did eat and drink. I don't know what wrong with her. She was fine before the rains.

I'm totally lost with what to do.

OK, being able to casualy go ask biologist friends is awesome! I'm stealing your life laura.

well, my mother, my dad, and stepmom are all biologists; i studied biology in college & am still friends with my major advisor; i work at a university with a bunch of biologists; and several of my students have become wildlife biologists. not sure that's all worth stealing, but it does mean getting biological opinions is fairly easy -- but so far, no one has a definitive answer! the peanut gallery is leaning toward blonde raccoon, but not totally convinced...

If her nails are long she might have been sick for a while. She has not been foraging or walking enough to keep them trim.

Feel her bottom. Does she feel like she has a mass there (or anywhere?) The symptoms are very vauge so it is hard to tell what it is. Could be anything from cancer to mould to chilled. If you can keep here somewhere warm overnight it can help. If you think she might have gotten mouldy you could try oxine mist. If you think she could have an infection but dont know what you could try la 2000 or penicillin but they are kinda shots in the dark here.

The only thing I can tell for sure if her nails are long is she has been feeling poorly.

Depending on how old she is, it could be a ovarian problem or cancer. The long nails is an indication that she has not been feeling well for a while.

if she is 9 months or younger I would treat with corid ASAP and make sure she drank it. I would withold food for a day and then feed her scrambled eggs and a bit of yogurt.

If she is older, then I would move her into a hospital cage and give here food, vitamin drops and see if she perks up.

I'm willing to try anything I can. She's in the house right now. I was looking at my flock and they all seem to have longish nails. Or maybe none of them are long...

I've never wormed my flock with anything but natural ways. Should I try worming her/them too?

Where do I get the other meds you mentioned and how much do I give?

She's about 1 year old. Should I still give her corid? Where do I get it and how much do I give her?
