oh and Vit E too! Dr brown said it helps in conjunction with the corid to get better faster

It is hard for me to read @Chiquita
s posts sometimes but I am pretty sure the report from UCD has already ruled out Cocci.

Vitamin E is still a good idea though.

I thought her post said it *was* coccidiosis?

I've been enjoying this beautiful day before the rains come. Cleaning chicken houses and taking pictures of my chickens. Everything is getting so pretty and green. Can't wait for the oaks to get their leaves. The new ones are always so bright green!

Pictures of my Silkies from Catdance. Silly birds won't jump up/down the step into/out of the chicken house so I had to get a load of dirt and put three shorter steps in so they will go in and out.

What they lack in brains they make up with fluffy cuteness

The rain does turn the moss on the rocks green and makes them look so pretty. We have the moss rocks all around our house. The house overlooks a creek with more beautiful, big rocks. It gets pretty wild when it rains! Fun to watch.

Looking out our front door~

Looking out our living room window~

That is amazingly beautiful! I'm so jealous!

Maybe try Fermented feed?  Mine have plumped up  since I started them on it....plus it's cheaper by about 50%.

I may try it again with them. They get rasta hair when they had fermented feed and need frequent baths. Its insane.

I was so confused!

It was for two 4 week old chicks but no for an older Silkie.

You think YOU are confused think how confused the cockril named pullet was. I put everyone on the s one because it handles a variety of things that could be lurking in the ovaduct. I'm worried something is making these chicks vulnerable via the egg. Once I get the whole report I may call and chat with uc and ask some questions.

So I had a so called pullet and chick die on me thursday. Sent them into davis. Assumed chicks needed corid so started it.

Chicks did NOT respond to corid at all. They were all drinking but lost a few more so I switched to the s one. Got the report is is cocci. Im worried I have a strain that isnt responding. These chicks are not 4 weeks old so I didnt start pretreatment.

The "pullet" (surprise it was a boy! Silkies **** you! Way to ad insult to injury davis!) Has no findings but was skinny. No worm eggs

Could I need to lower the protien and give more carbs? Silkies prefer the pheasant feed that is Like 28% so I give them that with vitamins and fussy stuff for egg production and the occational fodder and sprouted wheat treats.

None of them seem plump. Now im worried.
Sorry to hear about this! I have 11 chicks that are almost 5 weeks old. 10 days ago, a few of them started looking puffed up like they weren't feeling well. This is the first hatch that I have fed non-medicated feed to. So I started them on a round of Amprolium (corid). 5 days at the higher dose then today was day 5 of the lower dose. They seemed fine until today. I have one Bresse chick who is puffed up and not doing well. I have her in a brooder in the house while her hatchmates graduated to the outside brooder. Shantih, should I start her on that other medicine? What is the dose?

The strong dose is 1 tsp per gallon. The less strong is 1/2. It is listed as a cure for a couple other things that present a bit like cocci. So I think it is good for the *** puffies.

CCLs boy? Or girl?

If memory serves me right boy.
