California - Northern

I was hoping to make the show this weekend, but something came up and I won't be able to make it.

Quote: I don;t know why it would. I have it everywhere too plus hollyhock with is near the same. Its a very beneficial herb by the way. Good for healing properties and the stomach.

Norma is officially broody. She has been quasi joined in broodiness by Petunia who spent most of the day in the nest but got up this morning for quite some time. She may be back on now I am at work so don't know. Yesterday she and Norma were playing musical boxes. I only have two in that coop...just 6 hens and I am not sure what I will do if this continues when they have fertile eggs under them. I guess I will put one in a little broody "coop" inside the main pen and hope she goes for it.

@capayvalleychick Have you ever hatched Del over Dorking mixes? Curious what they look like. Dorking over RIR creates a sex link I wonder if NH over Dorking does... that would be quite helpful!

I have tons of babies pippin' and zippin' over here!
Most were in my brinsea for 18 days, now they're all in the Genesis and doing great!
It's like popcorn poppin'

. well maybe that isn't the best emoticon to use for chicks popping like popcorn lol!

Thanks! The breeder has become a buddy of mine too, & always wants to know how my birds are doing, which is nice. He's a walking Chickencyclopedia.

Oh nice. Are you coming to the party? If so maybe I can get you to hatch a few chicks for a friend she is having issues replacing a dearly departed friend.

Are you going to do more marans or should I try and torture you again with more ducks and seremas?

Oh no more ducks for me. they were torture, haha! Upside down and turned around they were. But it was probably my methods that messed all that up.

I have coming from Ron some eggs: penedesenca , U of A's and some crosses

Then I have from Papa brooder: Jubilee Orp and CL eggs.

So I'll be full for a while, but when space opens up I can do some seramas. Just no ducks. Ever. Again…..Of course next season I may change my mind

I have a few, but they went today to live with a woman building up a scovy flock. She is getting other females, so she has room for the possible 3 drakes in there ( it was 2/2 and who knows on the third) Since she was keeping them ALL and had a huge pond and a safe duck run, I let her have them. My girls almost started sitting, but then Pumpkins ran them off the nest. Im going to bait their coop with eggs and see what happens.

mario has a picture of me carrying them outside Saturday for the last sunshine bathing in the yard!

Quote: Hi Audio51, yes! isn't Candy simply lovely? Awww, so nice that our chicks are related.. My pullets are now going through the stage which I adore of being out of proportion with big feet, pinning feathers, and chick down still holding onto the tips of the brand new feathers, and always so inquisitive about everything that is new; which is just about everything : ) If you have any photos of yours, it would be so nice to see them.

Mine were older when I got them so I missed that stage, They were very near the POL. These are the girls. I have the one in front on the first picture. She is my favorite, but I love them both! She is younger and very friendly

Ohh, wow! they are beautiful! They look so cozy, cuddly and sweet with their muffs and beards; but, at the same time so elegant and dignified..I love your photos, and thank you so much for posting! Yes, mine are only a bit over 5 wks. old and in the middle of their whimsical stage which I love. When they run around, play, stumble on their big feet; not knowing what to so with the rest of their body, and rush about with no idea where they are trying to reach...so much joy they give..

Wish I could take credit for the photography, but Chickee actually took those. They are the ones she sent me when we were working out the details... They are gorgeous.
