1 more week for mine. I am getting ansy. I just turned the brooder on to get the temps right. First time I have used it.

given the variability/unpredictability of my work schedule, i didn't see the point in buying something that would need a lot of attention to hatch successfully -- hence the expense has proved to be worth it, in the sense of lack of worry about is the humidity right or has my house gotten too cold for the thing to maintain the right temperature or etc. my RCom only holds 20 eggs, not 50, but I'm pleased that i made the decision that i did -- and added bonus that it's so easy to clean!

Rcoms are way easier to clean than my Genesis
I am a sucker for fuzzy faced chickens!

cute
I'm with you. I do feed medicated feed to brooder chicks as they will die here on this property if I don't. Chicks raised by a broody do fine on this ground, but not artificially brooded chicks. They will die within a week or two if I put them on this soil without medicated feed. Other than that they only get off the shelf food and on occasion scraps. I keep it pretty simple here..with the amount of birds I have I can't imagine doing it any other way.

I dont medicate either just a clump of dirt in the brooder
So I've been out of town for work and still am but just got these pictures

what is it day 18 you stop turning?
I do at the end of day 18 in the evening or mid day if I'm home

Okay, so deworming the chickens must have been exactly what they needed as they no longer have only watery poops, there's a buildup of regular looking feces in the coop for the first time in a couple weeks. Yay! Healthy chickens! Thank you so much for the advice :) Now I just have to wait to deworm them again after 10 days, which would be the 2nd/3rd since they were dewormed on the 22nd/23rd. Then I have to wait another 14 days to eat the eggs! It's already driving me crazy knowing I have to use my eggs wisely since I won't get any more usable ones for something like 3 weeks. The chickens don't mind me not being able to eat the eggs, though. I already scrambled up 9 of them and fed them back to them, they really enjoyed it lol
