You ought to see the crested tinamou eggs - grass green & just as shiny.Wow! I didn't even know what a tinamou was!
I got my Brahma and Langshan from them three years ago. They told me that they get their chicks from Privett Hatchery. I don't know if that is still where they get them from.Concord Feed and Fuel in Pleasant Hill. I do not know where they get theirs from. They seem to get quite a number Wed thru Friday Each week. Seem to supply quite a number of people in the area.
We got an olive green egg today! I will have to post pics. I'm just amazed at how GREEN it is!![]()
Quote: Woo Hoo!!!!! Can't wait to see what the chicks look like!
Quote: Congrats! Where sis you say you were getting them from again? Was it Papa Brooder?
Quote: I agree! As long as she has given up on the eggs on her own, I would get the friend for her. I don't think it will affect her going broody again after she is back in better condition.
Fun Friday pic -

Back row (L - R): Nene goose, Bronze broad breasted turkey, naked neck chicken, OE, EE, Welsummer
Middle row: Polish, Partridge Orp, wind egg, wind egg, wind egg, pigeon (roller) egg
Front row: spotted tinamou, coturnix quail, valley quail, ringneck dove, button quail, diamond dove, zebra finch
What gorgeous eggs! That Spotted Tinamou one does not look real....looks like a candy egg!
Oh my! More gorgeous eggs!I wanted to share couple of photos of the eggs some of my hens lay; or, I should say: they gift me with. I do not breed for egg color; the color palette and the patterns were a delightful surprise. The small ones are Ko Shamo eggs; which they lay surprisingly large eggs for their tiny size. I took the photos under different natural light so to give a better view.

I'm sure the "Ameraucanas" will be EE. I have not has the other breeds, but I absolutely LOVE my Blue Wyandotte. She is the broody Momma in my avatar. I would not hesitate to get more like her. This is the supposed delivery at the feed store for today. Can anyone comment on these breeds. I may be raising some chicks out for relatives and the feed store doesn't have more delawares till mid may. Buff Orps seem to come every week.
