I just watched some videos of hoses being dispatched with a gun to the head and it didn't look as bad as I thought it would.

Now I'm shopping on amazon for a Havalon knife! Is yours a foldable one?

Edited to add it looks like all of them are foldable!
Yes it is..............I bought it on the Havalon site after taking a processing workshop with a chicken lovin' friend that was teaching her 4H poultry group. That's what she used & her & her husband or big time hunters, deer, bear etc,,,,,,,,,,,,,& she says that's the only knife they use for all of it.

That's good to know! No matter how much we sharpen our kitchen knives, they just are never sharp enough for processing. George ends up using one of my serrated tomato knives because they are newer and very sharp. It is usually his job to cut off the feet so he needs a sharp knife.

My new ducks are here, lol, begging for food... 12 wild Mallards!

Thats cool. If ducks were not so messy Id have some too. Though I recently saw a thread about doing aquaponics with ducks. (i would assume its not so self containing as fish because you probably cant grow enough food for the ducks as you could for the fish)
But and old bathtub a a large swirl filter barrel and kiddie pool grow beds make a cheep setup. Just pen the ducks away from the veggies (or vice versa) and a cool system. When I was a kid we had some easter ducks one year and low and behold a baby mallard duck came running down the street roughly the same time we got the plain white ducks We just put him with the others for a bit but we later found the mama mallard looking for it and it took off like a shot.

We let our grown ducks out at the local park that was a man made fishing hole where a large number of other ducks had taken up residence. Most people came and fed the ducks there so what were 3 more. This was in the mid 70's before it became so unfashionable to have easter pets. The pond even had some geese visitors every so often. We did a lot at that park over the years. Caught crawdads minnows, frogs and occasionally a few fish.
