Hmm, I have not noticed any of them molting. Haven't even seen any feathers in the yard, and they're all still missing half of the feathers on their backs for some reason. So I"m not sure if it could have been a molt?
Saw one of mine lay a softy, then poop a roundworm, so I wormed her and gave her a calcium pill. No more soft eggs from her.

I want to look into wormers that don't have a withdrawl period for eggs. Are there any?
The problem with most poultry worm medicines is that they are not registered for chickens. There is one--it is in safe guard.

If it is not registered, then it is against the law to sell eating eggs. It does not mean that you can't eat them. The thing to do is to see if there is a with drawl period in the species that they are registered for. ie, swine or cattle for most worm medicines.

Does this make sense?

So I think my chickens are going to really enjoy fermented feed. I put several scoops in a bucket and filled it with water, and will replace a scoop every time I take a scoop out to feed them. I put 1 scoop in a pail to see how long it would last them, and they went NUTS. I wonder how long it will take them to figure out that the wet feed is just food, not a treat that you have to gorge yourself on!! Lol!
