So i gave in and gave my hen who has been laying on air for like 2 weeks eggs and she took them right in. she has decided my scratch bag would be a great nest even though she has 5 diff nests to choose from

They do fly well. They seem to eat everything but then most of my chickens do.

They have an excellent feed to egg ratio, AKA Feed Conversion, of course. They lay a lot of eggs!

How old are yours? I do not remember when they hatched.

Is anyone hatching this weekend?

I have one going.

I do! I have some from Chiquita that are hatching. It looks like one BCM, a black Show Girl and a mystery chick. It is all yellow and hatched from one of the light brown eggs that was not marked. @chiqita ....... what do you think it mighr be? I will get a picture of the chick and the egg shell tomorrow.
Anyone having issues of chickens just dying? Seems to be on days that get hot or around them.. I am loosing 1-5 birds a week. ages vary from mature layer, to pullet, even chick. They all seem fine but I go out ans find them just dead. I have had heat kill them before, but not this much :/ They do have shade.

Oh wow....I am so sorry to hear that. That's a lot of chickens to lose. Hope you get it figured out soon..

Seems the curse continues! One of my Sussex has been acting a little roo-like lately. Checked his saddle feathers this morning and sure enough; little spikey feathers are starting to poke out. That makes 7 out of 9 from this spring... sure hope the eggs I'm picking up from Papa Brooder tonight throw a couple of girls.

I thought my little black rock bantam was only kidding about sitting in the dust bath hole. I went out today and found her walking around with two chicks. They were quite well-behaved, she pecked the ground and called and they came running!!!

Very cute little things!
Aww...how cute that must be!

I have three hatched in the incubator. One of them may be a cream legbar. I have pips in 3 of 4 OE Project eggs too. The Pita Pintas have not started yet.

Of course! I have not had silkies before and never even knew show girls existed until joined this thread. It will be very interesting to see it grow up.
