The Blockage is gone and the chick is still acting sick. I think it is cocci.

The natural approach would be to try to get the chick to live thorough the cocci infestation. It is a parasite after all. Yogurt, scrambled eggs, vitamins and water. It might need to be tube fed. Culling for resistance and not using for breeding if it lives.

impacted crop will lead to sour crop after several days or so. It can lead to vent gleet too.

You can argue corid is just a vitamin blocker and barely a drug. People think its an antibiotic or drug but its not really.

I stopped going to natural threads when people refused to treat worms. Killing things painfully when you can fix it disgusts me. I get a bit out of control on those topics...

I know. I made the mistake of going there from the BYC Home page and then posted--On one of those threads someone was arguing that corid was an antibiotic because it killed something. completely ignoring the definition of them killing bacteria. Another time someone said they were giving their chickens an antibiotic and it turned out to be oregano oil.

I might pm the person and see if they really do not use any medicine.

I'm not against natural! But I am against not using all the tools in your toolbox to save lives. Use preventatives to pr
That is a reasonable way way to be!

Feeding them oregano can be a preventative.

My problem is that I think it is cruelty to animals to not use medication to save a life if there is a proven treatment. If you won't treat, have the decency to euthanize and never take "unnatural chemicals" yourself.
