What kind of netting? Deer netting?
I use 2" heavy duty poultry netting from Ebay. My 25x50 foot piece was about 100.00 the smaller piece is a lot cheaper but not as heavy

I've had some real talkers over the years. I didn't have to teach them though, lol. I hope everyone is prepared for the big storms coming around Wednesday or Thursday. Flood level alerts are predicted for up to 8" of rain in 24 hours for my area.

it will be wet

I expect pieces of the hillside to land on the road I commute on, or pieces of the road to fall off the hillside... By Saturday, the hills were so soggy that I kept finding pieces of rock either in the ditch or ON the road. I expect to see more of that with this coming storm. Also, 2 good sized trees blocked our main road while I was gone at work, and it looks like they went from fog line to fog line and cut out what was in the road, and piled it on the sides. LOTS of tree on the sides, it's not cleared up at all, it's just not in the road anymore. More of that will happen, I just HOPE it's not at my house!

Hi Michael!! Nice to see you here. Planning to pick up some play sand tomorrow and a tarp.

You too, Tommysgirl. If it is like the last storm, I will be directing unpredictable areas that I've never had to be familiar with in the past. Sand makes a difference in time of adding it to yards, that's for sure. I like that top layer for drainage to keep birds out of the wet soil. I don't like dirty eggs or birds. Clean river sand from local nurseries has a good consistency. It is not as fine as play sand.

Thanks for the information. I am not sure we have that in Lakeport but I will check it out. Decided to put plywood on top of the runs instead of the tarps b/c of potential pooling and high winds.

My husband told me last night that free bags of sand are available at the fire department. You might check in your area to see if there's an agency that has sand bags available for the coming storm.
