California - Northern

I could probably get as far as Willows. I would be interested in some of the Crele Penedesencas of they are at that price. I can't really figure out the website to find prices. If you are able to fill out your order without me that would be fine, but if you need mine that would be what I would want.

Jason has Crele Penedesenca but they may not be laying yet.

Urch has a Website?

Quote: I did see the eggs he has posted, but it's too far for me to drive. If someone closer to me where headed that way I would try to get them, but alas...that is not likely. I may try again when he restocks his bubble wrap.

That is a breeder listing website. You can use it to search for breeders of poultry that you want.

The only Spanish breed is White faced black Spanish on his list. That would be a good one to get from Urch. If you want to have chicks shipped to you, Our fly babies ships chicks:

Is there anything you can do to quiet a noisy hen. One of my dels has taken to being the community announcement system. Seems like she barks from daybreak till about noon almost every day. She has to sing when every egg is laid or even if someone thinks about laying an egg.

Was wondering if a rooster collar would work on a hen (doubt it)

I was out with her for about 30 minutes yesterday holding her and would put my finger on her beak every time she would start up. Worked while I was there but the minute I left the broadcast began again. She comes up to me a talks at me a lot, lets me know about the water or food. Has to come see whatever I'm doing. She is a sweet bird but man is she noisy

Is she laying yet? They usually get a bit quieter after they star laying.

She has been laying she is just the flock crier

I have a Dorking Hen that is like that along with a Kittle RIR that goes off at night with a full blown alert that sounds like the egg song.

I do not worry about it since the noise is well within decibel levels and times when it can be noisy. They make no noise past Dark so all is good.

Saw a small rodent of some kind dash across my run in the pre-dawn light. *shudder* Spent the afternoon putting hardware cloth "bumpers" on the doors to (hopefully) prevent a repeat performance.

Ewww.. first something gnawing, now something scampering - who put out the "new coop in town" alert to the pests?

I don't know, but I wish they'd take it down!
