can you post pics of what they will look like? :)
well that is hard because icelandic's all look different.
the olive eggers I have are blue ( she looks like a blue ameraucana) and a black one
My icelandic rooster is crested. I hatched some for a friend a few weeks back. I will se if they can get me a pic.

I am going to be selling my icelandic flock soon to make room for My other breeds.
then I should have some really cool olive egger projects.

I'm glad that isn't true! Ofcourse we'll never know since it doesn't snow here. I just put 13 silkie eggs in lockdown this morning.

They should hatch on Tuesday. Then I have a staggered hatch with 3 more silkie eggs. They'll lockdown Friday and hatch on Columbus Day..........I hope!

I started out with a lot more, but over half were infertile. Most of these will join my blue/black/splash pen plus I have 6 or 7 white silkie eggs.

I'm pretty sure these will be the last for this year for me......unless we move. Then I'd love to hatch some Partridge Silkies and Lavender or Quail D'Anvers.
I have been playing with my incubator since I had bad hatches. Things are getting better for me with three of 5 Silkie eggs hatching and 3 of 4 this time. Now i have 4 more in the incubator. :) Wish my Partridge Silkie hen would start laying so I could hatch a few from her for next year. I do have one egg from her that she laid the day she got here but nothing since :( This is one of the four in the incubator. Maybe by Spring time I will have the incubator thing down a bit better... :) Loving my chicks from you. My husband is quite intrigued with the "Sizzle" dont know still if it is a Cockerel or pullet. I may have to build it a special "Sizzle house" if it is a boy . I am sending a pictures of them and maybe you can tell me what color she is ??
Buff cockerel

? What color? She has light yellowish across the shoulders and some on the wings and chest, hard to see in the picture

I locked down 24 silkie eggs yesterday too, 12 paint eggs, 9 BBS eggs & 3 white eggs, also a couple of my lakenvelder eggs I was test hatching. Tuesday I'm locking down some Ameraucana, Iowa Blues and a few more Lakenvelder that are due on Friday.

Then I am DONE hatching until after I get back from Mexico in November.

Wow, how weird. I put eggs into lockdown today too and 3 of them are silkie eggs!

I do not have silkies but I saw some at Sewandgrows party. I just can't get the image of that Broody Silkie trying desperately to cover way too many eggs--some of those eggs were big and blue too...The look on the hens face...precious.

Go little chickies, GO!

It's nice to know others that have silkies. They are my snuggle buddies. I love my "normal" chickens, but my silkies are SO sweet!

By the way, does anyone on this thread breed Buff Orpingtons? If we move to Pilot Hill, I would like to get a BO cockerel or rooster for my layer flock.

I think Molly may. at least she has other kinds

Quote: I'd have to go back and look. I forget if they were blue or black (they just say "B"), I just got 7 eggs off a swap thread. One of the good ones was from a lavendar pen. The color on them is very nice though.

Currently I have one blue pullet I hatched from a swap last year.
