I owe my boss some blue copper maran's so depending on how many you want.
I can take up to 20. he paid for the 10 black penedesenca for me so instead of sending him money he said I can order him some of them. Or I can just send him money and we can take 13/12 respectably . I want 10 more black penedesenca and would take the rest in partridge.
Make sure if you add a breed for someone else on there, they do not decide to send you only those and not the ones you really want, like what happened to deb. I understand why they do that policy, but imagine how un family friendly the house would be if you got all blue marans and no penns on that order.

Do not mean to be nosy, just thinking about how to get you your beloved chicks. Even MY heart would not take another disappointment for you.
OR, That is called nest confusion ( you probably know this) My Orphingtons suffer from it. She trys to sit on whatever the last laid egg was. I just gave her golf balls then stuck the chicks under her at 21 days and she was happy as a clam. Of course Sparkles saw all those golf balls and went mad trying to steal them. I wonder if I took her to the country club if she would see the piles of used balls and have a chicken heart attack. THAT would make a great picture.

Thank you. I will mark in the box no sub's. Linda there has been pretty straight forward with me. My boss knows them pretty well.

Hello Everyone! I am somewhat new to BYC but I have had plenty of chickens before when I lived in Alaska.

Just moved here to California a few months ago and am just now getting around to restarting my flock. I have *so far* 2 Blue English Orps, 1 Buff Silkie, 1 Red Sex Link, and 1 Cuckoo Marans. I also have 13 Basque (EO), 10 Wheaten Marans, 6 Blue Laced Red Wyandotte, 24 Lemon Blue Bantam Cochin, and 6 Silkie hatching eggs in my two home made incubators. I also set 5 dozen Trader Joe eggs in another home made incubator to test a microcontroller device I am working on.

I hope to find some local people who would be interested in these little chicks, except the TJs as I have people lined up for those. But the rest are up for grabs depending on how they develop for the NYD Hatch Along. I plan on keeping a couple from each breed for myself but we shall see what happens with the rest of the little peepers. I just hope they all hatch! Anyways, I look forward to getting to know you all as I have never had so many neighbors so close by before!!
Welcome Brechin! I always think it's amazing that chickens can be raised in and survive Alaskan winters. Of course I live in an area where a hard frost is a huge weather event, so am a bit wimpy when it comes to real cold. Living in the East Bay, you'll find that summer heat is a bigger concern. Quite a few people lost chickens to the high temps this year.

Good luck with your hatching. Wish I could take a few chicks, but my place is small and I'm at my coop's limit, so I must resist temptation. Hope you share pics with us!

what is the best wormer? have to do it soon. saw some worms in the poop.want the easiest to give and least toxic

I like Ivermectin. Jeffers had a big bottle on sale. I use pig injectable. You can still eat the eggs and it kills those worms you saw along with fleas, mites and lice.

The website says they only hatch 10 black penedesenca per week(if I am reading that correctly). They say 15 for the Partridge Pennes.

I think I want to try something different that lays extra large white eggs. Put me down for 10 La Feche chicks.

I tried that, then I got a whole box full of one of the breeds that I was only interested in a few. And I only got two fillers of something I didn't order and two singletons at that. They are rare breeds, I won't find them anywhere else, but at least they are both girls and can just join the egg flock.
