California - Northern

Ah, yes - chick dander is awful for allergies. I wonder if putting an air filter on the top of the fish tank to filter the air coming out might help? I think the fish tank is a neat idea - because I can spend hour watching chicks play....
I read on one post that someone puts a heater filter over her brooder. I have yet to try it, but it sounds like a great idea

So we've been having predator issues again (another fox, I think). I set up the trap this morning.
This is what I get for baiting it with salmon.

NOTE: not a fox...

Oh, I love her white socks and the nip on her tail. She is adorable. Congrats on her being a girl.
Speaking of the "nip" on her tail, something DID nip her on the tail! It's bloody, and the tip is gone! Does anyone know what could be doing this? It happened before with another set of lambs.

Her name is Debbie.
Okay, I just wanted to warn you, that I bought some live chicks from her, and they had Infectious Coryza, and spread it to all my other chicks. Had to cull them all.
I don't know if your birds are sick, just wanted to let you know.

That one does not make it from the egg. The other one does so mine are fine. She is 13 months old and I had to necropsy one in August--not coryza. The Hen died of Mareks Cancer.

Thanks for the warning--I won't get any eggs from her.

Sorry about the Coryza. Is your flock sick with it?
