The Pea comb and the blue egg gene are associated. You can get blue eggs with a straight comb. That is how we got the Cream Legbars. In the US, the Pea comb was kept with the blue shell because of the cold winters here. In Brittian they did not need to worry about it so went with straight comb and auto sexing.

Lots of fun stuff!

I will get a picture of my SG Dorking x wheaten Ameracuana--she has a modified pea and straight comb.

That one does not make it from the egg. The other one does so mine are fine. She is 13 months old and I had to necropsy one in August--not coryza. The Hen died of Mareks Cancer.

Thanks for the warning--I won't get any eggs from her.

Sorry about the Coryza. Is your flock sick with it?
All the chicks in my brooder were sick, so I had to cull them. My adult flock never came in contact with the chicks so they never got it.

Sorry about your hen.

That is so sad!

I am relieved that you did not have to cull all of them.

Best bait I've found so far for rodents is the Super Scratch I mix in their layer pellets. It's got fish oil on it and it's the main reason they get in there to begin with. I put peanut butter on the trigger and then press some of the grains into the peanut butter.
