We had to rehome the silkie we had (roo). But there seems to be a couple silkies the in the mixed bag I picked up from Jeff so I hope we get a Silkie girl. I really like the 'sizzle' roo we have. He's very handsome. What happens to the feathers if you breed a sizzle to a silkie. Does the feathering change or is one trait more dominant than the other?

I just put 4 eggs from my LF BLRWs, 6 eggs from my bantam BLRWs and 4 eggs from my EEs (pure wheaten x pure buff Ameraucanas) into lockdown. The chicks from the EE eggs are up for grabs. I might be convinced to sell the LF BLRW chicks (Foley x Greg Catt lines) if someone really wants them

I am trying to build up my bantam BLRW flock, so the bantam chicks are not available at this time.

Another question...to get a Sizzle...that is a mutt right? I know Silkie goes into it. Frizzle is merely a gene/trait not a breed (correct?)...so what breed/s of chicken do people use to make Sizzles?

Silkie + ? = Sizzle

And to further that. Do Sizzles breed true or are they more like crosses. The only exist when you cross a breed?

The Frizzle gene is passed on. When one shows up with it, you just breed for it. It is the specialty of some people to breed Frizzles. Someone in SF has Frizzle Black Australorps!

I figure with all the rain and the red clay soil here at my house it would look like pink cotton candy that got left out on the rain. They are cute as long as they are someone elses, just looks like to much work for me. My two special needs birds are plenty.

I like the brahma bantams, OEGB and d'anvers just fine.
