California - Northern

we planted some ourselves.
3 green panda bamboo ( 6x6 clumping ) Fargesia rufa Green Panda hardy to minus 30
1 varigated mountain bamboo. not really sure what it is

1 yushania anceps ( hardy clumper to 10-12 feet )

next week I have 1 more green panada and Yushania anceps to plant
plus Borinda Boliana ( Himalayan Blue bamboo )
My super rare mountain clumper that gets Blue culms. one of the tallest cold hardy clumpers

and 3 clumps of Black stripe Timber Bamboo ( this stuff runs and I need to choose spots wisely as I have areas that hold moisture and I do not want a forest. Though it makes awsome groves.)

oh and 2 magnolias a Japanese Lilac tree , noble fir irises and a few pines I grew from seed ( like I need more pine trees though

I'd like to get some Timber Bamboo and take over the world! I love bamboo groves.

We have tons of Japanese Maple and pot up seedlings all the time. I'll have to look up Japanese Lilac.

how many are using the electronic GQF hovabator? 1588?

I was planning on getting a R-COM But with more fencing coops and runs may be out of my range for now but I need a upgrade .My older one does ok but has a hard time holding steady temp. and humidity
We got the Genesis 1588 with automatic turner and set eggs yesterday. Nervous! I hope they do okay. It seems like a lot of people have a separate incubator for hatching, and we don't. We set all the eggs at the same time, though. Is that okay?

Our "off" chicken is doing well! She seemed a little more lively today. No one else seems sick and no bloody poops. Thanks for asking, Ron :)

that is how I do it. I will use the one I have now as a hatcher once I get a new one. If you set eggs at seperate times in the same incubator it is tough on the ones set latest as if you open it to much the later ones have a harder time hatching

That's beautiful!

I'm using my Genesis as hatchers, because I have three of them. It will just cut down on the amount of hatching mess in the cabinet. I can't really break it down to clean it, since it will still have LOTS of eggs cooking.

I originally got the Genesis and was very happy with it. Then they came out with the new one with the digital monitors on top. So I had to have a second one so I could set eggs at two times. Then I had to get the third to use as a hatcher when I wanted to have more than two hatches running at once. It's just feeding the hatching addiction. Better start saving for your second incubator now!

It is good to here she is doing better!

Hatching in the Genesis after incubating in it is fine. I have done that many times. I have 3 incubators now and am using one as a hatcher because I can.

Like Deb said, start saving for the next incubator....Hatching is like that.
