I love chicken math!

Thankfully the Red Tails tend to hang out at the sod farm about 1/2 mile away from us Jason. What has moved in is smaller and I believe them to be asipitors. They have the long narrow tails of woodland hunters. The reds are worrisome but to look up and see a bald eagle is really scary! Sure glad my girls are chowhounds and love their treats, all I have to do to re-pen them is to grab the silver treat bucket. The hardest part is trying to walk with them milling in front of me.

My little lady, Benina, modeling her new spring dress!! She is a perfect model :love -My Coturnix Quail are on lockdown tonight!!! 33 eggs, but I've had some temp issues so I'm hoping for at least 10 :fl . I also have an RIR who seemed to be sitting a lot- 5 months old- I took her out & she was walking like she was drunk. She's normally a sketchy runner & she could barely keep her head off the ground. I deduced that her right wing is broken. I think that she must have gotten caught up the last time she was out free ranging. Poor thing. I splinted her wing to her side with vet wrap & giving her some vitamins, electrolytes, higher protein & just making sure she can get to the food/water. What else can I do?
Pretty in pink! That's for sure. Great picture :) So sorry about the RIR, sounds like you are doing everything you can.

Completely random ramble.

I had to go to town yesterday evening for a bigger brooder tub, and coffee creamer! Mariah was in a great mood, (after seeing the eggs she had received), and she came with me to town.

She wants to add doves/pigeons to her fair list this year. I parked and got the bag of birdseed out and started throwing some out, it didn't take long before we had a wide assortment of birds around us. She started looking at the variations on the birds and forgot she was with the "crazy bird lady"!

Take pictures next time!

Does the the law where you live say anything about the age of the chicken? Where I am it is 10 chickens OVER six months of age (giant loophole). That means I can have as many baby chicks as I want, right?

well that is a no brainer.

keep hatching . Raise them up to 3 months and sell the hens for 20.00 each . Filter out what you dont want
keep what you do
