They do in this house! We went and saw the new movie last Friday. Monet did ask what a tribble was and where did they come from! She is sadly lacking in her Trekie education!
You know....... Netflix streams Star Trek.... for only something like $8 a month, no commercial interruption, one after the other..... but I am just sayin'..... I have had insomnia issues off and on for about 2-3 months now. I am on Season 6 of Star Trek The Next Gen. (again) I look at those actors and can't come to terms with the fact that that series is 20 years old...... that means I am THAT old! lol

The original series is on Hulu+.....Get that girl educated!

Isn't there SOMEBODY here who needs a gorgeous, friendly and gentle EE rooster nearly a year old? Dang, maybe if I copy and paste his picture from that other thread...

He is a son of Carl, my dominant roo, and has the same even temperament. I gave flock eggs to another BYCer (Chickmagnet9) last May, so he's one of my GrandChicks all growed up. He has Carl's lungs too, so she can't keep him any longer where she lives.

If I wasn't maxed out on roosters, I would take him in an instant, but I just can't.
I'm sorry :(. I have no room for new roos here either :(. I know its hard trying to find homes for the special ones. I'm talking someone into Ugly boy right now based on the fact he is such a good flock protector for his girls.
True confessions: I have never seen the second tribble episode from DS9. I am sad about that.

DS9 is on Hulu+ too--all seven seasons!

"Trials and Tribble-ations" is the 104th episode of the television series Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, the sixth episode of the fifth season. It was written as a tribute to the original series of Star Trek, in the 30th anniversary year of the show; sister series Voyager produced a similar episode, "Flashback".
It was nominated for the Hugo Award for Best Dramatic Presentation, as "The Trouble With Tribbles" had been in 1968. ("The Trouble With Tribbles" lost out to "The City on the Edge of Forever" that year.)

The guy who wrote the trouble with tribbles is the slowest writer EVER. I have been waiting for the new book in his war against the cthor series ( a Method for Madness) for like 18 years. Mario almost paid to get my name in it for my 30th birthday present... we wont talk about how long ago that was..

Chicken girl, wolf tracks does sell her lavender project eggs. Kraftyladies I think has creole orphs. I bet that is where they are from. I need to send her an email....

Wow! If you are in it for the egg color, check with her

Ok help! If you guys had to pick 8 breeds what would they be and why? I am looking for something I will be able to easily sell hatching eggs from and well mostly because I love them all lol. But my wonderful, understanding, (haha) husband says 8 pens,

Thank you both :) they're beautiful! I need a few colored eggs to go in my eating eggs cartons. I figure whatever eggs I don't sell for hatching I can sell for eating ( moving away from strictly layer hens) and have a lovely aray of colors :)

Dottie is pulling out her lower neck/chest feathers. I will get a pic later but I noticed she had feathers missing and Tom said he saw her pluck. I read all the descriptions I could find on why she might be doing it and nothing sems to fit. She is a Delaware from My Pet Chicken and is just a year old. Any thoughts?

Lots of things going on here so I am not able to post replies to everyone but wanted to say "Howdy!"

Tom finished the coop on Sunday. The babies are outside with light. They are happy. I take my little folding chair into the coop and bring them treats and I am happy because they now run all over me instead of freaking out..

My Daughters graduate from St. Mary's on Sat. My son from high school the following Friday. Busy and emotional time for us here. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me re the feather pulling. She is otherwise behaving normally. I feed King, give yogurt or buttermilk most nights they have been wormed and free range for hours everyday unless we are not home. Everyone else is good. Buck Beak has broken feathers on her back but she was Ray's favorite so that is to be expected.
That's so exciting about the graduations!! That must be hard for you to have your kids graduating from big things the same year. You did a good job with them obviously!

About the feathers - I've never heard of a non-committed broody but that's super interesting! If she keeps it up and doesn't commit, you should break her. I found it super easy to do. I took my broody out of her box and put her in a completely different coop with no box. She didn't go back to being broody again and she broke almost immediately!
They are here! I got an email at 6 that they had landed last night, and went to the PO to find out where the SJ sorting center was so I could pick up. While I was driving there the sorting center delivered them.

They were not pleased with the situation when I checked the box and tried to escape, but are now eating and drinking like champs.

CJ squeezed an extra hen in there so I have 2 partridge girls, 1 black boy ( immediately named Herman after Herman and the hermits) 1 white rooster and 3 white hens. 2 of the white girls are clean necked! I'm very excited.
So glad you received them and they are safe!! I would give them Poly-V-Sol drops for a few days to combat the shipping stress.

Now I'm thinking good thoughts on debs eggs!
x2!

Sad news : woke up to the one survived of debs eggs (col Cochin) and a cuckoo marans dead in the bottom of the brooder. My hubby was rooting for the col and is now sad at work... They weren't slumpy so I'm guessing they couldn't get out if the dog pile.

Happy news: I bought two flukes hydrometers and they say my glass thermo is off over 2 degrees!!!!! So I threw them in with two doz trader joe fertiles ;-))) my humidity was at 55 yesterday, today 45... How low is too low for day 1-18?

Sorry about your losses :-( Like Ron said, the ecoglow is AMAZING. I've never once had to worry about the chicks when I've had it. They either sleep underneath or on top (depending on how much heat they want). It makes everything simpler on no worrying about pileups.
