California - Northern

What breed is she? I had a Golden Comet that had egg laying weirdness. She stopped laying and passed at 2 years old--Mareks cancer was the cause.

Hopefully she will recover with the treatments. Sour crop and Vent Gleet are Fungus related so that may have caused the strange thing you found today.

She is a Delaware. Hatched 5/14/12. She is complaining loudly about being isolated and ate a little more yogurt. Should I give her more of the 50.50 ACV and Water?

Excuse me....I don't mean to be a negative Nellie here, but WHY are we getting rain in June? I am not ready for rain. My coop will be a muddy mess and my back has been killing me for a week so manual labor is a challenge to say the least!

Those are some cute chicks Ron.

Quick!

Get to Home Depot or another place that has sand and get 4 bags or so into that run!

Of course get someone to do the heavy lifting for you.

Scramble up some eggs and feed it to her--ok hard boiled works too.

Also, give her some grit. For some reason grit helps get digestion going. I do not think you need that strong of ACV and since they do not digest yogurt a little bit goes a long way. I would give her a teaspoon each morning and feed her mostly grower\starter until she starts laying eggs again.

Treats are a no no and bad for them until their digestion is back up to snuff.

LOL I went yesterday about 6 after the heat died down a little and I have about 8 bags sitting outside to put in. I just have to get my back to cooperate!

i'm happy about the rain, although it hasn't started here yet -- my garden will LOVE it!
Don't get me wrong,... I love the rain.... more than the sun, but not when I am not ready for it!

Thanks I will...already gave too much yogurt so no more of that. I have her isloated so she wont get treats. No how do I get her to eat the monistat?

Hi NorCal Peeps!! I'm from SoCal, but will be going to Vacaville to visit my daughter for my grandson's 1st birthday. I'm wondering if ANYONE can recommend somewhere to get Poults from? I posted in the turkey thread and the want ads and am having the worst of luck. I plan on driving back from v-ville on 7/9 going through Gilroy and Gonzales with a pit stop at Metzer Farms for ducklings and goslings.

I cannot afford some of the exorbitant prices I've seen, so I'm hoping the locals will know the perfect place/person with great stock!

LOL You are asking all the same questions I have in my head. Ummm... which end do I give it to her? How do I get her to eat it? lolol.....

Ali...from the first post that I read of yours I felt like we were meant to be friends...same thought patterns great minds
