Quote: Nope, I don't have one of those. So I just went and got the waterer I used when they were little babies. Hopefully she won't knock it over!
I think she came out of shock pretty quickly. She has finally calmed down and is just laying down right now, but about 10 minutes ago she was clearly telling me how much she hates me. She kept trying to fly out of the crate(obviously to no avail, as it's just a wire box!) and every time she failed she would stand there and make very angry sounds... The chicks are just now starting to make both peeping AND clucking sounds. So she sounded pretty funny.
She ate almost the entire egg, I hand-fed it to her through the bars of the crate.
Well she sounds better. You might make her happier by throwing a sheet over to make it dark - she probably would like to go to sleep.. Did she drink any of the water before she stood in it?
You might want to wire the waterer to the sides of the crate.. just in case she throws another temper tantrum.
