Ack ack ack! We got skunked last night. Luckily it was not so bad. I think rufas just sniffed where the skunk had been spraying but we were up till 130 washing him.

Poor baby!

The skunk we dealt with truly was not bad at all. There was only the slightest trace of him having been in the trap. He didn't release at all, the area we "returned him to nature" wasn't even bad.

But I don't want to be cocky about it and jinx my future

The skunk smell was worse before, I think he was the one that had been strolling under my open bedside window at night. He smelled worse then.

One night, the dog woke my daughter to go outside around midnight. She let her out and went back to bed. My husband let her in half an hour later or so. She ran in and started rubbing against the couch. I still (till this day) do not know how my husband missed the smell on the dog before letting her in.........needless to say he was outside at 1am washing the dog, and then the couch. The smell was so bad I almost threw up....and I do not have a faint stomach. It's one thing to get a whiff.....it is another thing to have it permeate every inch of your nose. We never were able to get the smell out of the couch and had to get a new one.
