California - Northern

It doesn't matter which is which.

Keep in mind this is not true for self blues (some breeds are calling them lavender), they in fact breed true.  The above chart refers to what is called the andalusian blue gene.
Ok I was asking for my blue/gold partridge brahmas. I am just so confused lol

Went out to collect eggs after getting back from our growers market. Figured I might as well check the EO eggs, peeked in and saw what looked like an egg sticking out the front. "Might as well check to see if it's pipping" I tell myself. It has leggs and is completely fluffed out, hoping the other two follow suit soon.

Congratulations!

Before there is any sympathy elicited, I can tell you I'll never have sympathy again. I've lost birds to predator getting in, or being able to drag birds out enough to kill them. We just keep making the pens more secure and trapping when we need to. The final iota of sympathy came when I noticed a bird dragging itself around on the ground. I picked up the bird and was horrified by what I found. The bird had obviously had one of it's legs snagged during the night and pulled to the outside of the pen, nothing else would fit through the wire. The bird had the bottom part of it's leg eaten away, what would be the thigh bone (femur), was just a bare bone, every speck of flesh was eaten away. It looked just a like a chicken bone you would leave on your plate after dinner. However this bone was still attached to a living breathing pullet. I have no sympathy for predators going after my birds that I have done my best to protect.
Oh my good Lord! I'm so sorry to hear that :( on a lighter note my parents had one in their basement and set up a live trap with cat food in it and all they caught was their cat lol!

Debs-flock, hope you caught the culprit and your birds can relax now! My neighbor likes the raccoons, he locks his dog up after the coon is treed so it can come down and eat the cat food they leave out 24/7. I just hope my luck continues and they leave my house and coops alone!

I had a cousin that found a young one while out wood cutting. He tried to keep it as a pet but when the hormones kicked the second year they couldn't get rid of it fast enough, turned mean and nasty almost overnight.
