Hooray for Hatchlings!

Glad you got another Daisy Jr. too. I hope you get more, just give them time - they have been through a rough hatching so they may be late.

hey all -- i made some video clips of the egg hatching today, and managed to get them all strung together -- guest-starring Daisy Jr. (the chick that hatched late last night) AND my cat Pearly -- i don't know how to embed it here, but here's the link:

Oh you bought some and they didn't hatch for you?
Yes, at the end of July.

Penedesencas are very hard to hatch when shipped. That is from both personal experience and anecdotal experience of others on BYC.

The eggs did not break but were not packed to withstand shaking stress.

love the position it took as soon as it was out.

We can work something out I'm sure. It wouldn't really give them a friend to hang with, but at least they would have someone else that's new. Of course, you could quarantine the birds together, that would help.
Hmmmm something to think about. maybe it would be best to get two NH girls from you and 2 SGD girls from Kim...then everyone has as friend

Is it weird that my 3 Andalusians combs/wattles are all developing at different rates? These chicks were all hatched on the same day.

The Black Andalusian has large bright ride comb and wattles that seem to have appeared overnight. The Splash Andalusian has hardly any and they're light in color. And the Blue Andalusian is in between, medium colored and medium sized(in comparison to the others, anyways, they're only 4-4.5 months old so they're still developing. I know Andalusians end up with huge combs)

Also, is it bad that the Blue girls comb is falling over to the side? It's never stood up straight.
