Oops!! I just looked up Modesto Milling and see that there is a HUGE difference. Sorry for the ignorance

@Chic CAN Thanks for the info. I went to their website but what do I do from there? What is the name of the feed you use? I am so grateful for this information you don't even knowI was ordering Directly, but I found it easier to go through AG unlimited in Lakeport. They drive by there once a week and can pick up an order. I got a discount for a bulk order. I buy about 2-3 months worth of feed at a time. They deliver free in lake county. I used to go in with other people on an order and buy directly. pallet flat rate was $102.
I think she was going on another trip.I have not seen deb lately. She got a bad shot and was having arm pain, i wonder if she is off the computer. The kittens are all on my lap trying to tpe. For once any typos are not my fault...
While poking around for a picture, I found a link to winners from the 2013 Minnesota State fair--An urch Silver Duckwing Ameraucana was a winner there.Jerry Seigler had told me that the hens are the same and the roosters are close too with the exception silver duckling has a black stripe in the neck and saddle feathers and silver does not. that was it. Just a gene expressed differently.
Ron I may take a few eggs / or chicks if anyone can get a picture.

So the more people order the cheaper freight gets. I also have my oen mill. I got non GMO Organic wheat and corn for our own flour and meal. You just have to pick through it some and maybe wash it. but the price was worth it to me. 1 lb grain = 1 lb flour and at $23 for 50 lbs. vs $6 for a 5lb bag of organic flour heck yeah I do it! Though I like costco's organic white too their price was pretty good
You can do bothCheaper from modesto itself. Everyone that works there seems to be really nice too.

So if a chicken wins at a poultry competition, does that make them Show Quality?
Here is a pdf of the winners:
Check out how many Urch's are winners and the Breeds.
Ditto that WOW! I see that his Langshans won, too! I may need to get in on this chick order!Wow!!! Chickens are a family affair there alright! That was a fun ready their MJs and SPWs appear to be show quality But both of them are pretty rare...I would be interested in knowing how many other exhibitors there were. Mottled Javas were basically kept from going extinct by him and a Dr who I believe lived in the Alabama but maybe I only think that because Robert Blosl had acquired that flock, or most of it. I think his son is working with them now, anyway I imagine that the Uruch show birds would be some of the best just by virtue of the fact that they are the foundation for just about every other flock in the country.

Read through their product list to see what you want. I like thet they post all ingredients they use in their pellets and feed. I just called them and gave Chris my e-mail and he sent me a price list. He will tell you what you need to doTheir prices adjust every quarter, sometimes it goes up a little sometimes down. That for direct orders from Modesto.
Ag unlimited is the easiest way to do it. Just look at what you want first and then I called AG unlimited got their email and then just put in my order using Modesto's numbers and the amount I wanted. I get the corn and soy free layer. and they get the scratch which has corn in it.
What I love is it has the red mineral salt in it and DE already! I do not have to worm my birds and there are less flys and insects in their manuer! No sick birds since I put them on this too.
You can buy Organic food grade DE from them as well. I also bought the red salt by itself a 50 lb bag and just grins it a little and use in the house. it was $10 when I bought it.. oh yeah XD

Notice the protein difference and much more fiber! My ducks love this stuff too and their eggs are not over powering in flavor. They are the same as the chicken eggs, but for baking are excellent!
Also the scratch has sunflower seed. which are a good source of protein and fats. My meat from them is very filing.
It is cheaer by a few dollars to mix your own scratch and you can get peas also , but sine they are already in the pellets I just save myself the bother of mixing and just used the scratch I also just started giving them the organic flax seeds too.
