has anyone had any problems with saddles? I've had them on for a couple of weeks and a couple of them may even look worse. Not sure if the saddles are rubbing the backs too. I searched it and haven't seen anything on it. Some are doing well, but others I'm not sure about. My rooster has a long one one to get his tail to grow back. That's working really well!!
I am am sorry to hear about the saddles not working!

I have not had to use them yet.

at least that's what it seems. I tried trimming their nails but there wasn't much to trim.
Brand is working it! They do not seem too interested though.... The pullet on the left is a Wheaten Penedesenca, then a Partridge Penedesenca. Brand is also a Partridge Penedesenca.
Ron, are those your dark layers ? Beautiful ! Really like the wheaten :)

Yes! They lay very dark eggs. I tried a late hatch of ebay wheaten eggs but had only three out of the dozen develop and they did not make it past day 12 or so. I may try to get some from Our Fly Babies this year.

My dad and I didn't get the run completed today but we put latches on all the doors and I put a piece of plywood over the entrance with a huge rock over it so nothing can get in the coop tonight, I sure hope it's enough :(

I hope the Raccoon gets trapped tonight!

I didn't get a chance to get the wet cat food, is there anything else (besides Seramas) that will work?

Anything, like dry cat food or dog food. Try to put the trap where it would walk towards the coop, in a dark quiet place.

If you are wondering what raccoons are capable of . . one chewed through the side of a live catch trap and escaped

My friend in Michigan had one chew through the wall in her barn where the wall met the roof and then chewed through the inner wall to get to her chickens. This was after it broke through the chicken wire on her chicken house windows (replacing with hardware cloth stopped it) and killed all her bantam buff Brahmas, which were the parents of my birds. These are extreme cases though.

Hope you catch that sucker!!
