Exactly what I was thinking of doing! The brinseas. If you get one of those cut rubber shelving pieces for the top and just change when they are poop and wash.
Yikes! Hmmm...need to think a little more about it before forking out the money. When the power brick failed, it still powered the led light that said there was power but the plate was cold!
My Middle DD told me that something was wrong since the chicks were acting odd. I checked water and food and made sure the eco glow light was on. After several hours, I reached in and touched the plate and realized it was not working.
Luckily I am not using my second eco glow so I was able to power up the one for the babies.
They would have died if I was not paying attention!
Here is a thread talking about it: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/...-the-premier-heat-plate-brooder-for-chicks/20Are there any reviews out there on this one? Sounds better than the brinsea

I just guess I need a few hens now:-0I'm so glad you found a Cock - bird! One of ours went missing and the girls were fighting over the two remaining. FYI that's exactly the coloring of our smooth! We love to stare at himI just guess I need a few hens now:-0
me too!
You could but that probably will not get all of the eggs. It is important to treat again at 10 days from the first treatment.Ok so I wormed and treated for lice/mites. I dont see any bugs anymore, but on my big Orpington girls vent area there are still eggs in the feathers. Should I pluck them out?
I feel your pain. I would love to go but have a class final that day.Just whining again. So totally bummed about missing the show. I think I was as excited about meeting you people as I was about seeing the chickens. I've been asked repeatedly to bring birds to the show for a buyer and I keep thinking that it's a good excuse to show up!
My family event is supposedly over at 3. Is there any reason to go to the show if I can't get there before 4?
