Ok, here is what it sounded like brinsea described. They said it works for a lot of eggs without the foam and the lay the middle eggs flat. They said the 40 is different and the moisture wick is more to the side so not the same issue. Do these look right? Ron do you ever not use the foam? They're telling me only use the foam for eggs you can't get to fit right. But they fit snigger with it

Move them to new positions in the incubator every couple of days--after day 7 though. Eggs are more prone to damage during the first week so they need to not be moved too much.

Checking is easy and fixing is easy. So I'd just eyeball.

so with the air cells, would it be better to also manually turn them over? The dark ones are hard to candle. What would I look for with the cell?

Look to make sure it's not migrating to the part of the egg you leave on the top. Put eggs easier to see there first.

Thank you I found a post on this subject from gryeyes. She uses foam egg cartons and cuts out the bottom instead of what brinsea gives. I cut out the bottom so hopefully it will still get plenty of humidity to the egg. I think her post said she got great hatches.
I seems like the eggs are lower and they don't move back and forth. I can fit 24 if need be.
They are CLOSE to the wick but looks like more space.
Or the rotating method would work great too!
I would love the 40 but it would be more $$ plus shipping both ways. Not sure I can justify it right now

Here's a pic of the middle section with eggs

If you space the rails in at 2, 4, and 6 inches the eggs will fit without the humidity paper touching them. I got tired of trying to figure out where the rails went back in after taking them out to clean, so I put a black dot with a Sharpie on each side where the rails go in at the 2, 4 and 6 inch intervals. I always use the foam inserts. I like how snug they keep the eggs. I use the extra strips of foam on the row ends to fill the gaps if the rows aren't full of eggs to keep those eggs from falling over.

It comes directly from China and has very crappy reviews. Or so says google. Also can't get parts when it breaks.

I've been reading mixed reviews. I like the clear top for visibility. My nose is plastered to my Hovabator Genesis 1588. I wish that I could could see from the side.

I usually look for reviews that chat a little and can compare. Rather then I love this. Or I hate it. I didn't see anyone who had had a different incubator that liked it.

Do you have the all plastic top hovabator or the 1/2and1/2?

I have the whole top clear one but the fan takes up so much room and I don't have the side view. I just want to see it all!
