How old are these chicks? And how many?
They are not even eggs yet, lol. But I only ship seramas as sexed juvies. Chicks just don't make it.

What highway would I travel to get to you. I am about 35 min from 101 and about 1 hour from 5. I <3 pics.
ahh, langshans strike again! such majestic chickens.

You would think spell check on BYC would recognize chicken breeds.

I use an LED flashlight with a piece of foam pipe insulation on the end. The insulation comes in 6 or 8 ft pieces at Home Depot. We needed it for a different project and I high jacked a few inches of it to use for candling!
Good idea! I have this on hand :)

How much space is there? My broodies would accept it but they may not pay it special attention and if she is running around it may not keep up. If she is in a small area id try it. Give the chick 3 days to recognize mamma.

Almost missed this. They are in a small section of the coop sectioned off temporarily with hardware cloth. I would guess about 6 square feet right now. she is still on the nest for the most part. I hope it works! I hope this little one will have no trouble keeping up it is speedy even in hobbles but who knows at this point. Thanks!

So they would have to be shipped as adult birds. I have shipped and received finches shipped by express mail and have several empty used boxes if the upright ones that look like cat carriers. I don't know if that would help with the cost. I think it's about $10 to send and empty shipping box. I'd be happy to send one.

Yeah, it is express only, I rechecked that yesterday on a page where people ship. He is quoting the "live animal" price and that is only 1 day olds. @juststruttin do you still have boxes or can i piggyback on your next order?
I have a few adult boxes left and a couple chick boxes. What do you need? We certainly can share in on an order. I think you need to buy 20 - 25 to get free shipping. I will double check.

I don't have any adult boxes left. Dont need it right away, but if I do ship to nik id need a box, and thought you might have ordered some. Looks like we may be doing something else however. I may still try and buy a box from you if you are not low...

These pictures were taken using the regular power Brinsea Ova Scope. It's a Muscovy egg at about day 7, I think.

Caution embryo pictures from the above cracked egg! Heart was still beating when I took these.

Great Pictures and very helpful for seeing development.

Was the egg cracked in shipping?

I just looked and I have 3 boxes left, so I should be able to spare one if you get in a bind.

I like the Economy N.E.S.T boxes. which are roomier than the single stall shippers. I just looked up the prices and you need to buy 25 to get the free shipping. Shipping in outragious so its totally worth getting the bigger bundle. Perhaps there are others who would like to share in an order when the time comes.

The costs per box when purchased in a bundle comes to $12.95 each.
