Whose bright idea was it to fall for a rare breed land race that has only
A handful of flocks in the us and all from one imported line and the importer no longer carries them , and no one has breeding or line advise for me to glean from????!!!!

Oh yes, mine! My bright ideas ....

All done.

Well i made today productive. cleaned the rooster pebs in the garage, cleaned the other flock pen and made an enclosed area for the roos to be outside in and to use for small chicks wheb thry are old enough to venture outside. the pen outside is big enough for 3 full grown roos and 2 hens (thats whats in there now)

Wow! That is productive. Wanna come and that at my house?

I thought I knew which chickens laid which eggs (mostly). I guess not. I could have sworn that I set the eggs laid by my red ranger hens (with Melvin as the dad). The chicks should be all yellow. The two that have hatched so far are black. I have one yellow one that is working on it, but who knows what I'll get.

Yes ty!
We got a free 6x6 greenhouse in marin this weekend and set it up yesterday.
I have shelfs on one side for herbs and fodder and peppers (herb and pepper sheleves will be covered in wire). And am thinking about putting up a strawberry wall on the other side on pallets.

I have a large dog crate in the middle for large sized broody/juvie grow outs/silkie breeding sets/ whatever dosnt fly out of the door. Over that will be fish for the plants with a wire top.

Under the strawberry wall I think we will put the black soldier flies until it warms up.

It is going to be cute!
We just ordered a greenhouse last night--I may just have to try doing mealworms under the bottom shelf...

Lucky!   How did you manage to get a free greenhouse of any size????  Those can be pretty pricey....

This was a cheap one. Someone who we staged their house and it sold didnt want to move it and I moved it for her :D

I wish I had that kind of energy!

How exciting about the chicks! Mine are due to hatch in the next few days. I'm getting a little nervous about it.
