I should have know you would have every color out there!
What about white...Have I mentioned the glory that is the California Grey??? And Dorkings and Icelandics...don't forget about Dorkings and Icelandics!!! There is a BYC user from whom I bough eggs last year and she can hook you up with some Dorking over Polish crosses they will get you white eggs too.

white eggs dye so nicely but most of all they are super rewarding to look into when candling. You can see EVERYTHING!

OK I am done no more pushing the white egg layers but really you owe it to yourself to get a CA Grey!

Looks like a Blewit Mushroom which is edible. Don't recommend it though. Can you pull one out by the volva (root) and show me a pic of the underside? I have a mushroom field guide. :D Thanks. Also what are those about 4 inches across?

Those mushrooms appear to be Clitocybe nuda or Blewitt. If you break one of the caps and it smells like frozen orange juice its a blewitt and very edible and extremely tasty. Where are you located? Id love to come by and harvest them if you dont want to.

Try to figure out where she is roosting at night. It is much easier to catch them then.

Roosting UP in a tree. Safer than on the ground, but my tree climbing days are well behind me. Not that I was exceptionally coordinated, I did love the joy of climbing. Falling out of a big ole tree caused me to have a lumbar laminectomy at the tender age of 16. I appreciate your idea. This is one street smart chicken. I hope she survives until we can find her a home. Any rehoming or rescue ideas are welcome!

If we find a taker, I'll provide the ladder and will enlist someone to pluck her off her perch.

If they aren't up too high, I've been able to use a steel garden rake and push that up against their bellies or chest, like you would use your finger, arm or hand to get a caged bird of it's perch.

I was curious, so I went out and measured them and the biggest ones are 6 inches across. They are growing only in one place, and only about 6 of them. It appears that they like the area that I put the droppings I rake out of the chicken yard. I wouldn't want to disturb/pick them since I am throughly enjoying looking at them whenever I go out to the chicken yard. I have never seen them growing here before. I do like hearing about them and knowing what they are

Here are some other interesting mushrooms I took pictures of today. They make such interesting subjects for photography.
