Ok do showgirls freak you out? They sound like a better fit for you they are fiestier and still broody.
I love hearing people's experience with breeds. My silkies get pretty fiesty if not handled regularly (especially when little). I have a turken (naked neck) as well. My husband thinks she's hideous but she's a great layer & hatched out my cream legbar eggs from Deann (JustStruttin') last year.

I have fallen in love with showgirls & would love hatching eggs in a month (when in the incubator is empty again

Quote: Don;t let the lure of "Building it cheaper" fool you, My husband talked me into a 10' x12' shed that would be way cheaper then buying one pre-built for about about $2500. It ended up costing us about $5000-$6000. It has steepled roof with a weathervane, fish scale siding on top, oak floors, an interior loft, a ceiling fan, custom made concrete countertops and sink, built-in cabinets...oh and a rock foundation, sliding barn-type door in addition to the main door and a ramp. Here is a picture of it in the snow before the chicken pen/coop were added in the space to the left.

@capayvalleychick Dropped off some Lamb for me

<envious> My mom butterflies & BBQs a leg of lamb for me for my birthday sometimes. Tons of garlic, rosemary, & mustard - yum.
Ronott1, have you ever tried fresh ground cardamom? Just go lightly with it. Also yum.

Thanks for the tips!

I would have liked the whole grain mustard but I have to consider others...We are just getting into Lamb. Like many Americans, Lamb was ruined by Mutton during the second World War.

Lamb is so good!

I need to try cardamom.

I put a bit of Nutmeg in the soup I cooked on Thursday and Ginger is very good in pork breakfast sausage.
