Welcome to BYC, Coopcommander! I think you'll enjoy it here! The people on this thread are extremely nice, and very helpful. They have taught me nearly everything I know about chickens. I've got a very happy flock of 6 hens, and I'm getting some babies on the 7th of next month :)
I am looking forward to getting my birds.

I figured I had so many pictures of my older daughter with the chickens that I thought I'd better take some photos of the 5-year-old!

Of course, once she noticed that I was getting ready to take a picture of her cuddling with Quiche, she had to get up and pose (the not-posed was so much cuter, naturally *sigh*)

Someone laid a speckled egg today! Not that you can really tell in this pic (and it was sunny enough outside that I didn't know you couldn't see anything until I took the photos off my phone tonight). It's the shiny one.

Tried taking closer pictures a few minutes ago, to show the speckles better, but all I have is my phone, which isn't great.

Found some more pics from earlier this week. Quiche really likes to be held--at least by my daughters. I guess I'm too big and scary...

The chick on the left has naked feet, and the chick on the right has feathered legs. I guess it's a wait and see what they turn into.

I always appreciate your advice. That's a great idea. So make a growth curve for all of them, and make sure they are growing at the same rate. Thanks!! Now I just need to get a scale that weighs little things....
Boy on the Left

I found a marans site that said Calcium and K2 helped keep the egg shells dark.

There must be K2 in the Black Oil Sun flower Seeds.

It has helped with the Penedesenca eggs.
hhmm what else is K2 in? of course I know Raleys sells Black Sunflower seeds in bulk

I was also thinking, what a wonderful opportunity to those that are wanting to show birds! I have seen Walt's Runner ducks, East Indies and New Hampshires and they are beautiful!

no Runner Ducks . Jason does not need runner Ducks. Nope No way. Well until I get Goats then they can hang out in that run maybe. NO NO NO

Welcome

Do you mean with the stuff I bought? So I'm killing the adults, then when treating again at 10 days I'm killing off the rest that weren't adults at the first treatment, is this correct? So I would NOT need to treat with a different medicine after 10 days?

That is correct. Some recommend using a different medicine to avoid drug resistance in the worms but you can use the same one this time and a different one in the future when you need to worm again.
I used Wazine and it worked good. We mostly have round worms up here in the hills anyways.

Well it appears we have a second bobcat..also comfortable with coming on my covered porch with the light on and someone in the room.

At this point im worried about everyone..and the dog!
