California - Northern

I'm disappointed.

I called An-Jan to order some King Freedom Layer, and they said they couldn't order it. I'm pretty sure it was just because the Manager today doesn't know how. Because I just got some last month, and the King website still says they are a dealer.

I guess I will call another day. But I keep forgetting to call them during business hours during the week!

Well
If you can't tell at hatch, then usually by the time they start to feather.  Sometimes, never.    Those birds need to be sold as a "chick", LOL
Well, she's a lot fuzzier than the two others I got to keep her company. They're a few days older than her at least. The seramas are isolated to the other flock. The color is throwing me off. My Cochin is dark like her. Lol

this little girl is rather fuzzy for being a first day hatch. I don't know who th daddy is or the momma for that fact.

I could be a serama, D'Uccle, silkie, bantam Cochin mix. Maybe next time I will mark the eggs. When can you tell which breed they are?
can you take a close up picture of her face?

I appreciate the replies.

I checked out that page, but hers don't look like what I want.

This is what I want: (Color not important. Fluffy bowling ball shape desired!)

Above photo taken from the ABA website. Frizzle Cochin owned by Shari McCollough.

Check out the Rare Breeds Auction Swap page on FB. You can do an ISO post and the people there are really helpful. It may require shipping though. However with Ron as your hatchmaster I imagine you would still get a good result!

Depending on the timing I could even split the hatch with you. I could let you know when my next proven girl goes broody. I could keep my girl on golf balls or some of my girls eggs, Ron could hatch the shipped eggs we could split the cost and the hatch. Totally cool if you don't want to go that route of course. Don't you love how I make plans for other people?!?

I want a reliable broody, so I need an adult. Probably not likely that I'll find one but just thought I'd wish.

Not sure what you can do some say hand feed to make him rely on you others say be like the lead dog not to let him back you down. I know my Dark Cornish rooster really doesn't like the rubber boots I have the boots have have a red toe and a red ring at the top and he goes after the top of my boots and it is amazing how much power he can muster jumping up and throwing his feet out at me. My wife says he does it to her he will be soup. Good luck, Tod.
