Yes and one source I read said to give them Calf Manna. There are instructions on the bag for poultry. You can mix it into the feed or give it to them as scratch.

I was giving the chicken Manna pro, then read it has soy… which can affect fertility.
does calf manna have that? i'm thinking not

It's good to know what caused it and it sounds like you are already taking measures. Remember that they need adequate amounts of D3 to absorb the calcium though.

I'm trying to remember to give a multi vitamin in their water. maybe once a week?
i do often forget about that D3, thank you

oh i just saw this relates to D3. So that would be a good option. can i give a multivitamin in the water WITH calf manna? or is that over kill?

If you are going for no soy, then you might try sweet feed or COB with molasses if you can find it. It is supposed to increase fertility.

The feed should have plenty of vitamin D. The Food Grade DE usually gets rid of the soft eggs quickly so you likely only need it.

Thank you to Ron & Deb for posting the links to the sex link discussions. I was thinking about this today after some discussion on it on the CL hybrid thread. I was wondering if my Pita Pinta/Cream Legbar and Pita Pinta/Barred Rock crosses would be sex-links. I definitely have some barred boys and solid black girls. According to this chart, a mottled java (would it be the same with a mottled PP? ) cock crossed with a barred female would produce black sex-links. CL are barred so would it work the same?
