For those of you that have CCL, do your chicks have vaulted skulls or poofs at hatch?

The pyncheons have "tassels" according to the SOP, none of my chicks have top hats. I figured that since they weren't true crested birds the tassel would grow in as they feather out.

Yup, no vaulting like a silkie and no pouf like a polish. They just grow a patch of longer feathers just to the back of the comb.

I candled my turkey eggs today.
Of 8, 7 are fertile & developing. Unfortunately, 1 was crushed. The last one is clear but I left it anyway.
So in 2-1/2 weeks we'll see if I get 6 standard bronze poults. Fun!

Thank you CackleJoy and Debs-flock. You confirmed it is more of a tassel than a crest, like the pyncheons are described as having.

They are just western fence lizard eggs and what i meant about the cricket is i put them i.the tank as food and a female laid eggsin my tank lmao

Yeah it was mostly the cricket eggs that threw me

I'm glad to be done buying crickets. The legs creep me out! Grasshoppers are just a bad. I would always have a few get loose and drive me nuts, the dogs had fun chasing them around.
