I haven't heard any crowing yet. I got them on April 7th when they were just a few days old, so that should put them at about 4 months right?

These guys are all about 4 months old, maybe a little younger. They're all boys, am I right? Two have rose combs and one has a regular comb.
As far as wild EEs, mine were friendly little chicks, went super skittish as they hit the gangly awkward teen stage, and are coming back around as they hit 3 or 4 months old.Reposting because I think I was lost in the no man's land at the bottom of the page. Also have any of you guys had WILD EE? These are broody raised so less tame but they are the least friendly of all of this year's chicks..
Also ETA they are 6 weeks not 8.
Yeah, I sectioned off an area of the run she was in (with the little ghetto 'eggloo' my husband made out of an old covered litter box). She has seven, and I have the one I caught the Jay at. It's not doing fantastic. She ended up ditching the egg, and I brought it inside to hatch. It had a somewhat abnormal umbilical opening, and a giant, squishy belly- basically a mushy chick. I think the jay dragging it out and pecking at it gave it some sort of yolk sac infection, which I've been trying to treat. I'm not too hopeful. She's being a great mom to the other seven, though.Do you have a separted area you can put her in with the chicks? How many did she end up with?
Could be slightly injured if there was significant weight/size difference.Has anyone had a pullet act odd after being mounted by a cockerel?I know, strange question, but I have a pullet who walks (when she walks; she spends the majority of her free-range time laying down) stiffly, and on her toes with her wings hanging. This happened after I saw my big Brahma mount her yesterday. She was perfectly fine before.![]()

I've only seen wings hanging from overheating. Don't know about the walk. Have you checked her back for injuries? Is he much larger than her?Has anyone had a pullet act odd after being mounted by a cockerel?I know, strange question, but I have a pullet who walks (when she walks; she spends the majority of her free-range time laying down) stiffly, and on her toes with her wings hanging.
