Nice looking birds!
I have heard that can be tough. My only concern with having the boys is crowing and that will definitely tell my they are boys. Silkies seem to be in demand around here...even boys so I shouldn't have too much trouble. In fact, one person I made friends with on FB has already asked about taking "Cher" if she turns out to be a he. I did tell her about the eggs I have coming so hopefully she will be hapy with one of the ones that hatches out from those.
One of the poys I processed today had a very prominant keel...much more so than any I have processed before. He was from the mixed breed meat bird eggs I hatched back suring the Easter HAL. He finished out about 3 lbs with very long legs. I suspect the keel would have been a DQ if he were pure bred and being shown. It didn;t seem to cause him any problems though
It would be a great name, but I just can't picture myself saying that out loud...even in my own backyard!
I think that is the name that will stick. It's simple and short....and definitley suits her!
Good to have you back! I can't imagine living without internet...even though I somehow manage to do just that for 30+ years...
I am excited for you!
Good to have you back too, Kathy!
