It is! Welcome, those first few pages dwell on the "where does Northern California start" way more than any in recent years. This is a very nice and helpful corner of BYC. Happy to have you here and yes what breeds of chickens do you have??

I had to go look it up.
"Not strong or heathy"
I think I understand it to mean that they can fail to thrive, like bad or lethal genes (but not lethal enough not to hatch).

Welcome! The geography is not important. Just means when someone else has chickens we want we are close enough to go get them!

I had to share a pic of the largest egg that I've ever gotten from my chickens. I had at least 1 girl working overtime last week. I collected 3 big double yolk eggs but 1 of them was 102 grams! The other 2 were 81+ g each.

Thanks! I am happy to report lots of nice rounded faces. My birds are almost all from BYC Nor Cal folks and a few other BYC peeps so it is no wonder.

Sold 5 7 week old chicks today. Dad = Silkie/D'Uccle Mama Blue silkie. One Blue smooth feathered no boots Two silkie feathered blacks Two smooth feathered with boots. Though it was interesting that the silkie feathered were non booted like their silkie mama and the booted two were smooth like dad.

No idea on sex. Told the people I would take boys back...hoping for the obvious
