Oh that makes sense! It probably is blinding him.

The other birds have probably told him to not go "down the tunnel with the bright light at the end".
I must explain that the blinding light is not a sign of the apocalypse , and promise to get some tanning started.
Who wouldn't known that a rooster would force me to keep my fashion statements up to date.

birds can see UV you're likely blinding him!

Omg stay away sticks of doooom!!
LOL, you guys!

I am debating setting some eggs tonight

The brown Red Ameraucana I hatched a few weeks back are doing well. Though they are outside in a brooder in the carport and we have lost power 3 times since they hatched.
They are saying we may get a dusting of snow this weekend . not sure if I buy it

It is good to hear that they are doing so well!

Would anyone be interested in a Humidaire hatcher?
It's a Model D - will hold up to 1,128 chicken eggs in 6 trays that are 24" x 24".
The cabinet itself is 31" wide by 46" deep by 52" high and is on rollers
It has the original Zytron controls plus I retrofitted it with digital controls & replaced all the door seals.
It is waaaaaay too big for my needs & too much temptation. :)
I'm asking $400 but I'd willing to bargain a bit for a fellow BYCer.

I have a drum incubator too - someone wants to buy it that & I want both of them gone close to the same time.

PM me if interested or more questions.
Thanks!

I do believe @fortyfivefarm in Madera has Black Sumatras. She is Jules in Madera. She has started the incubators for the season so you might check with her & she & @Chooklet are planning a Chicken party in Turlock before too long.

Yes she has been on Facebook very recently & we are Facebook friends. There are a couple of Poultry groups on Facebook California Poultry & Flock Talk I can't remember which one she's on. She just pops up on my page.

That is good to know!

She has not posted on BYC since last September, not even on her California the whole state thread.
