I went all out and sprung for a Grandpa's because my run is too small to really be water/weather proof and that was the only one I could find that was ok in the rain. Someone posted a different one the other day that would be PERFECT for your bigger flock. Let me see if I can find it ...

Here it is: The Cooketeria (the big double sided one looks awesome)

That looks like a nice feeder and less than double the cost when you include freight. It can be kept outside and I think the upward flipping action of the chickens opening the unit would add to the entrainment value of watching the chickens. I haven't decided yet but I'm still thinking the less costly one would work best as I can keep it under cover.

I am very happy that almost all are sold, and not surprised at all. Oh, I would like to have some more Ameraucana chicks as well

Oh, sorry Lual, I missed putting that in. I have already planned on more Ameraucana chicks for you. I have 21 of their eggs incubating, so there will be plenty!

I may get a couple next payday.....

I just added 4 Pilgrim goose eggs to the Brinsea. I already had 7 duck eggs in there that are about 1/2 way thru incubation. These were freebies from a lady up the road though had been given them but could not set them. I have no clue what I will do with 4 goslings....

I have had geese (African) and loved them. Husband thought they were too noisy.

Wonder how geese fair against raccoon. I know a number of people use them as watch dogs. I'm sure the coons would kill them but would they be able to alert you and survive better than chickens might. I mean a large goose can be fairly intimidating.

Yes, raccoons will definitely kill geese. They are relentless hunters.

The coons kill geese here......no matter what size they are. foxes have killed Sebastapols here and they are a lot bigger than the fox. I didn't hear a thing.
