Yippeee. I would love to get some Ameraucanas from you. Do you have chicks, hatching eggs or both?

Just sold my Basque flock. I am gonna miss them. They are a very good quality flock. However, in my attempt to scale back, I decided to let the Basque go. The buyer lives in Salinas and will continue to offer eggs and perhaps chicks. I forgot to ask. In any case, if anyone is looking or Basque, you can pm me and I will forward her contact info.

I will have hatching eggs, but I do have a waiting list. I can put you on it if you like.

That would be great. I am trying to scale back, but I don't have any birds that lay blue eggs and that is just not acceptable. LOL I figure the Ameraucana girls can live with my Orps since the eggs will be easy to tell apart. That is my reasoning anyway. : )

Hi Dawn,

They are LF. Smaller than my Orps., and NHs. Even though there is considerable size difference, they get along with each other quite nicely.

The chicks are now 2 wks. old, growing rapidly. Each one is so beautiful, and complete joy.

I had some Wheaten Am's from John Blehm a few years ago, and yours look similar, so I was wonding. Even though I hand-raised them, they were always rather spooky girls, although gorgeous.

I'm glad the chicks are doing so well. I'm in lockdown for my batch, hatching Tuesday. Can't wait!

Good plan and the blue eggs look so pretty mixed with the brown eggs.

Lual's Ameraucanas from me are Paul Smith, Pips&Peeps and Cree lines. No John Blehm birds.

Wonderful temperaments.

Candy's AM., hens came to me as a 6 wk. old pullets which she was so kind to keep them that long to be able to make sure of their sex. They were calm and gentle from the day they came to my home. I remember our ride back home, they were so happy about the apples and grapes I had with me, and sat in the box next to my seat, anxious about the treats. When we came home, and placed them in their Cocker pen, behaved like as if they were here from the day they were hatched. They did not go through an adjustment period : ) Well, apples and watermelon helped : )

Awww..so nice that you will have brand new chicks next Tuesday! I wish you a wonderful hatch, Dawn. I hope you post photos. I will photograph mine later today, and will send them to you.

Too much local drama... I think it's going to be nationally covered on CBS' "Inside Edition". http://www.news10.net/story/news/lo...solano-sex-offender-meeting-sheriff/70257722/ Oh, look - here are my ducks taking their first bath - squeeee! 3 have dark head markings, 2 don't - is that normal? They are so calm, mellow, & quiet compared to chicks. Very fun. Love their little butt-waggle.
So cute!! Ya some will have spots some no. Usually the spots change a little but are good markers of whos who.

Yes, I sold my Cream Legbars flock in the Fall. I also sold the SFH, Welsummers, Crele Penedesencas and Olansk Dwarfs. I love the Basque and had intended to keep them, but decided that I really want to focus on my Orps, Polish and Sulmtalers.
